Giving back to the communities is a part of the values held by The Vinmart Group. Through the Vinmart Foundation, we are building since 2012 sustainable livelihoods for local communities of the Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Created in 2013 and operational from 2015, the Kisengo Foundation is effectively and sustainably improving the lives of the people of Kisengo through an integrated rural development program in infrastructure, health, education and environmental development.

Our primary focus is on promoting the education sector by undertaking initiatives such as the construction and rehabilitation of schools, providing free education, distributing school supplies and uniforms, and conducting upgrading sessions for teachers.
Kisengo School is seamlessly integrated into the Democratic Republic of Congo’s National Education Program. The school is well-appointed with benches and furniture, generously supplied with complimentary teaching materials and complete uniform sets for its students.
It comprises a team of 46 educators, inclusive of the administration staff, and actively conducts free teacher upgrading sessions. Additionally, the school offers complimentary computer and English classes, enhancing the educational experience for its students.

Furthermore, we are committed to enhancing the health sector through the construction and rehabilitation of health structures, supplying free medical resources, conducting team upgrading and training sessions, and organizing free surgical campaigns.
Kisengo Reference Health Center seamlessly aligns with the National Health Program of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Boasting state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities, well-stocked with essential medicines, and staffed by a team of 25 highly qualified medical professionals, the center prioritizes ongoing training and upgrading sessions for its medical personnel.
At Kisengo, we actively promote health awareness and extend our services to patients from neighboring villages, offering a comprehensive range of medical services, including patient consultations, general laboratory examinations, overall health check-ups, general surgeries, and various other healthcare provisions.

Moreover, the foundation strives to support the agricultural sector through activities like market gardening, involving the donation of seeds, agricultural materials and equipment, as well as providing ongoing agronomist monitoring.
The villages initiative involves the complimentary distribution of seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, agricultural equipment, and ongoing agronomist monitoring to empower 15 mothers in cultivating vegetables.
